Pericles Pilidis did his studies in Glasgow University where he completed a PhD in Gas
Turbine Performance and, subsequently, a MBA. He was employed in Caledonian
Airmotive, a civil aircraft engine overhaul company and member of the British
Caledonian Group. Subsequently he went Cranfield where for more than three decades
has been active in gas turbines for air, land and sea applications. He currently is
Professor in Gas Turbine Performance and Director of the Thermal Power MSc within
the Thermal Power & Propulsion Centre that comprises 250+ staff and postgraduates
deeply engaged in international research, testing and education. He is the UK
representative of ISABE and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. For decades,
one of his primary interests is the development of environmentally sound power and
propulsion systems.
