Shanith De Mel is a Manager in ICF’s Aviation Finance consulting practice. During his time at ICF, he is involved in asset valuations (aircraft, engines, and spare parts) being a member of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) for the last 7 years, maintenance cash-flow modelling for major ABS portfolios of some of the top 10 leasing companies and asset managers and be an integral part in spearheading ICF’s asset management market offerings. Prior to joining ICF, Shanith spent nearly 4 years at Aircraft Leasing & Management Ltd, an asset manager, managing a portfolio of 80+ wide and narrow body aircraft. Here he primarily focused on aircraft remarketing and origination campaigns having overall responsibility in the Chinese mainland market. Shanith also supported the development of propriety cash-flow models having a specific focus on the Fly-Forward Analysis in deal teams. Shanith is a skilful negotiator, managing relationship with senior management teams from airline, lessors, banks and investors. He started his career as a market research analyst at Aerovista developing start-up airline business plans before transitioning to the acquisition department where he sourced and performed detailed analysis and valuations on aircraft for purchase. Shanith has a MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University and is certified in Network, Fleet and Schedule Planning as well as Aircraft Acquisition and Financing from IATA.Sessions
